What is CSU?

The Cambridge Sports Union is one of the Boston area's premier running, skiing and orienteering athletic clubs boasting members from all corners of greater Boston, Massachusetts and beyond. CSU's ski section is a community of cross country ski racers from Greater Boston and includes the CSU Junior program for high school aged skiers.  Our primary training location in Boston is at Weston Ski Track.  CSU skiers compete in all the nordic races in New England such as the Craftsbury and Rangeley ski marathons, the NENSA citizen series, Zack Cup races and Junior Olympic Qualifiers, as well as traveling to out of region races such as the American Birkebeiner and even some of the European world loppet races.  CSU won the NENSA club race at the Jackson 30km in 2010 and the CSU Jrs finished as 3rd club at Junior Olympics.  CSU provides year-round opportunities for ski training with Saturday rollerskis in Littleton, Ma as well as elsewhere, double pole time trials in Concord as well as more informal training.  CSU skiers compete in the off-season in such events as the Mt. Washington hill climb, numerous road and trail races, the Blackburn Challenge kayak race around Cape Anne as well as holding the annual CSU Fall Classic Rollerski race in N. Andover in November.

The running section hosts training runs throughout the year in Boston area locations including the Commonwealth Avenue stretch of the Boston Marathon course, Boston University's indoor track, Fresh Pond in Cambridge and the trails of Walden Pond and the historic Battle Road. CSU members participate in a variety of races including the New England Grand Prix series championships, Pub Series, Mt. Washington Road Race and the Boston Marathon among many offerings that make Boston a running Mecca(!?).
