A big weekend for several CSUers. First up, Alex Jospe finished 2nd in the US Orienteering Championships! Nice job!
At the Head of the Charles Jim Stock and Larry Elswit teamed up in the senior/masters doubles and had a good race finishing in 3rd in the over 60. Joey Carlino rowed in an eight from Community Rowing and their boat finished in 9th. Finally, Lisa Doucett rowed in a women's senior/masters four from Cambridge Boat Club finishing in 31st. No Pole Test and Specific Strength
Yet another incredibly nice fall day! Wow, what a string we've had this year. About half the group did a no pole time trial today, generally with good results, while the other half did a specific strength workout. It was busy on Annursnac Hill, but with the Patriots playing, not too many people out driving around.

Columbus Day Hike and Swim 2013
We had our annual Columbus Day hike up Mt. Sunapee followed the the Last Swim of the Year. Bex and K.G. were tough and took a full dip. Brrr. But feels so good on the legs after 2 hours of hiking and running.

More workout photos
Despite the warm weather, the calendar and the fading evening light tell us that it is time to move the core workouts to Bemis Hall.
Here, Lewis leads the team in some supplementary "15 minute abs" because I was too soft on them in my workout:

And I headed off to Maine to find the best "black powder" rollerskiing ever:
And kids, while the funky toe-shoes might look cool running, they are NOT appropriate to wear out to a fine dining establishment:

The pushup pyramid was a good idea, but coordination was not a strong point.
The first few attempts ended in giggles and a pile of bodies.
